My Ubiquitous Software Tools (free or low cost)

Over in the sidebar is a link to some current free or low cost software tools I use. I chose them because they generally do what I need and most of what I want and don't limit me to an operating system or a place. I can generally use them anywhere anytime, no muss, no fuss.
